Launch of R.E.A.C.H.
In June 2025, the first R.E.A.C.H. stretcher to be field tested, manufactured by GM Technologies, was launched in Langa, Cape Town. Through collaboration with Kheth' Impilo health facility and the Langa Bicycle Hub, a parade was held through Langa to exhibit the stretcher and educate the community about its purpose. Lead by the R.E.A.C.H. team, Langa's Community Health Workers, the Bicycle Hub team, and the Langa Safety Patrol, the stretcher took to the streets, along with hundreds of pamphlets filled with information about how and when to use the stretcher. The stretcher, as well as the dispatch system, is currently in use in Langa.
